Virginia Museum of Fine Arts patrons James W. and Frances Gibson McGlothlin have donated 73 works of American art to the Richmond museum, a gift estimated to be worth more than $200 million.The collection includes 12 works by John Singer Sargent, five by George Bellows and pieces by Mary Cassatt, James A.M. Whistler and Childe Hassam. A permanent installation of the works will be on view in the McGlothlin American Art Galleries starting Nov. 24.
